ANNE KLEIN - 1980's Pebble Crepe Kimono Coat & Draped Trousers

Once upon a time there was a woman named Alexis. Anytime you need a look that says I only need one name, this is it. Take a wonderful wool pebble crepe ensemble designed by Donna Karan for Anne Klein from the hedonistic 1980's and just add presence. We like it made modern when mixed with vintage. Fashion forward shoes topped by a pleated and wrapped turban from the 1950's with a flash of bold jewelry over a modern bustier with a vibe from the past is a mix that says NOW. Just exactly the feel we want when mixing vintage and modern design.

ANNE KLEIN - American Southwest Inspired Belt

Don't you just sometimes want to channel your inner cowgirl. Grab some distressed boyfriend denim and a crisp starched over sized chambray shirt belted with an interesting leather statement belt. Then topped off with some modern geometric turquoise jewelry with only a hint of the southwest and a vintage pair of colorful worn in python boots. What's a girl to do? We love this vintage Anne Klein belt from the 1970s for its distressed southwestern look and feel. So belt it over your western interpretations of style and lasso the bull of your choice.

RALPH LAUREN - Vintage Sportswear

When looking for a great skirt that not only beats the heat but also raises the temperature, you will never go wrong when choosing a soft cotton print. Even better if it features a full button front that can be left open for a great flash of leg with each step. Now to make it a perfecta, select this vintage 1970s Ralph Lauren soft blue folkloric print that not only shows off your slim waist but also showcases your long legs. We call that perfectly modern vintage. Pair it now with a bold Gerda Monies necklace, and later with a rust suede Anne Klein jacket, when the weather turns colder.

FROCKOLOGY Style Tip:
When wearing a strong print don't always play it safe by pairing with solids, step outside the box and try a little mixology by choosing to incorporate different patterns that enhance or contrast the main pattern. Now put on your big girl skirt and give it a try.

ANNE KLEIN - Vintage Sportswear

Sometimes it just feels right to slide into a caftan and simple slides and let your hair go wild and free. Pile on bold brass jewelry and splash a bit of Patchouli behind your ears and channel your inner Bohemian. No one understood that like Anne Klein, who always created clothing that was comfortable as well as playful. She just got it, in so many ways and is considered on of the leaders of mid century modern sportswear. Just make sure the lion is on the label because when he went so did the creative genius behind the Anne Kline label.

FOCKOLOGY Style Tip:
Remember that comfortable does not give you an excuse to be sloppy. A well cut caftan or a beautifully colored bohemian full length cotton isle dress or low cut simple print cotton pants and a crisp top will always look right and evoke envy. A running suit or stretch pants and a big loose top leaves you in the middle of the fashion herd. Enough said!

Is there anything more wonderful in the fall than a chic little suede jacket. Something that protects yet emphasises all your feminine charms. Toss it on and make it one of your signature pieces for the season.
*
Frockology Style Tip:

Anytime you are working with a suede jacket you tend to quickly pair it with a pair of jeans and rightly so, but also think past the easy way and consider it with plaid trousers or paisley print wool challis skirts. It is a great investment piece and should be mixed and matched as often as possible. Depending on the way you pair it, you will have many different looks as well as a great pair of jeans.
